InterfaithInterfaith Emergency Services, Marion County’s centralized organization for community outreach, is Countryside’s most significant local mission.
Relay for Life
Relay for Life was started at Countryside by Diana Deal after she moved here from Richmond, KY. She had participated there for several years and continued her support of the event here in Ocala. Countryside has walked in this even for the past 7 years, changing our name to Diana's Countryside Christians after her passing.
Diana's Countryside Christians walk each year in memory of Diana Deal and all our other friends who have lost their fight with cancer, and in honor of all who are now celebrating "more birthdays". The walk is sponsored every year by The American Cancer Association. |
Children's Giving TreePresbyterian Men sponsor the Children’s Giving Tree each November, providing Christmas gifts and food for families referred to us by a local elementary school.
Strawberry FestivalStrawberries, Strawberries, Strawberries!!! We wash/dry, dip (in chocolate) and sell at the Habitat for Humanity Strawberry Festival. Over 1000 strawberries, several pounds of melted chocolate adorned with sprinkles are the end result for the various teams of folk that prepare for the festival.
